Burlington City Arts - Art from the Heart

Candy began volunteering on the pediatric floor of Fletcher Allen Health Care in September 2006. Finding pain management, in both mental and physical respects, as well as self discovery through creative elements is something she has great respect for. "I was impressed by the strength of the families, the children and the volunteers that I was surrounded by. We have so much to be deeply thankful for in our lives and creative expression is a gift that is freely for our taking." In January of 2007, having found that her busy work schedule didn't permit her to free up her afternoons, she moved into the marketing and sales piece of Art from the Heart. Some of the children's art work from the floor is framed and put up for auction. Half of the proceeds go the child artist, and half goes towards art supplies. These same pieces are made into cards and sold with the profits going directly back into art materials for the Art from the Heart cart.
